Against All Odds: Nguyen Duc’s Journey from Conjoined Twin to Ambassador of Peace and Non-Profit Leader

One Kidney Only: 36 Years of Life for Vietnamese-German Twin Brother

Nguyen Duc, the younger brother of conjoined twin Viet-Duc, underwent separation surgery 36 years ago and still lives with one kidney, one leg, and wears a catheter that needs to be changed every two weeks. Despite his health challenges, he grew up, got married, and has two twin children who are now 15 years old. Currently, he serves as Vietnam’s Ambassador of Peace to Japan and is actively involved in the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City. Additionally, he is the founder and director of the non-profit organization NPO Duc Nihon – For a beautiful world.

Nguyen Duc’s journey has been nothing short of miraculous. Born in Sa Thay, Kon Tum, in 1981, he was attached to Mr. Viet in the abdomen, pelvis, genitals, and anus.
