ACIIDS 2021: Expert Discussions on AI and Machine Learning Advancements

Intelligent Information Systems and Databases Conference in Ras Al Khaimah with a Focus on Asia

Recently, the American University of Ras Al Khaimah hosted the 16th Asian Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems (ACIIDS). The conference served as a platform for experts to discuss the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. With 150 delegates from 43 countries in attendance, a total of 120 research papers were presented over a period of three days.

The focus of the conference was on various topics such as AI in social networks, machine learning algorithms, generative processing models, natural language processing, cyberscience in digital transformation, and AI-based medical analysis. Keynote speakers covered important subjects including Distributed Intelligence in the Computing Continuum, Data Flow Methodology for Deep Neural Network Training, Countering Misinformation on Social Networks using Machine Learning and Social Network Analysis, and Multimedia Generative Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Applications.

Professor Stephen Wilhite, Dean of the American University of Ras Al Khaimah emphasized the importance of research and intellectual engagement stating “We are pleased to host an intellectually stimulating event that encourages critical analysis and interpretation. We believe this conference sheds light on the positive aspects of information systems and smart databases.” Dr. Kholoud Salama, Chair of Computer Science Department at the university described it as “a valuable platform for research exchange, collaboration and shaping the future of intelligent information systems.”

Overall, attendees gained valuable knowledge and insights while fostering global networking opportunities. The conference highlighted cutting-edge technologies’ significant role in today’s world with a focus on their applications.
