Acid Rain Technology’s Memo: A Modular Synthesizer That Eliminates the Need for Cables

Superbooth 24: Introducing the Acid Rain Technology Memo, a Wireless Modular Synthesizer

Acid Rain Technology has announced the release of Memo, a new cable-free modular synthesizer that features two VCOs and VCFs. The company’s first foray into the world of desktop synthesizers, Memo is designed with white round buttons for triggering functions, similar to Buchla and Serge’s 1970s panel synthesizers.

Despite being a modular synthesizer at its core, Memo eliminates the need for cables, creating a tidy setup without the usual cable mess. While patching is still possible, the white buttons in each section act as patch points, allowing users to connect different sections easily.

Memo features two VCOs with sync, two multimode VCFs, two raise/fall function generators, LFO, three VCAs, and more, with a sophisticated modulation engine expected. With full MIDI integration and a unique patching system, the Acid Rain Technology Memo synthesizer offers a refreshing take on modular synthesis.

The expected release date for Memo is the end of the year or early 2025, with the price to be announced soon. Stay tuned for updates on Acid Rain Technology’s latest offering.
