ACI Promotes Dr. James Kim to Senior Vice President of Science & Regulatory Affairs and Welcomes Jessica Eason as Manager of Environmental & Scientific Affairs

American Cleaning Institute Welcomes New Members to Science Team

The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) has announced that Dr. James Kim has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Science & Regulatory Affairs, while Jessica Eason has joined the team as Manager of Environmental & Scientific Affairs. Eason’s responsibilities will include managing scientific research and outreach on the environmental safety of cleaning products and their ingredients, as well as overseeing research initiatives related to chemical databases, environmental modeling, sustainability, and science education.

Eason comes to ACI from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), where she provided technical oversight and instruction for testimonies, legislative analysis, and congressional correspondence. She also played a key role in facilitating relationships and legislative engagement between NOAA, congress, indigenous communities, and intergovernmental stakeholders.

Dr. James Kim, who holds a Ph.D., DABT, M.H.S., has been with ACI since 2018 and previously served as Vice President of Science & Regulatory Affairs. His expertise in toxicology and risk assessment has helped enhance ACI’s position as a leading voice in the industry. Prior to joining ACI, Dr. Kim worked in scientific roles at the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), Statistical and Science Policy Branch, which is part of the Executive Office of the President. Before his government service, Dr. Kim was with the International Life Sciences Institute’s Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI) and has authored or co-authored more than 30 research articles.
