Cognosante, a leading provider of federal digital transformation and cloud modernization platforms, has been acquired by Accenture Federal Services. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but Cognosante has been providing cloud migration support, program management, and technology platforms for federal health care programs since 2008. These programs support veterans, active-duty personnel, providers, and other beneficiaries.
With this acquisition, Accenture’s federal arm is expected to integrate Cognosante’s more than 1,500 personnel. The acquisition is pending regulatory assessment and other customary closing conditions. John Goodman, the CEO of Accenture Federal Services, stated that the company is focused on innovating and investing to help federal agencies meet the evolving needs of their missions and customers.
Goodman expressed admiration for Cognosante’s capabilities, people, and impact. He highlighted that through the acquisition, both entities will use technology to address the country’s priorities. Michele Kang, the founder and CEO of Cognosante, also commented on the acquisition. She stated that they found a great partner in Accenture Federal Services as both companies share a commitment to their clients and employees.
