2030: Khalid bin Mohammed implements Abu Dhabi tourism strategy, targeting 39.3 million visitors

During the Abu Dhabi Executive Council meeting led by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council, it was highlighted that the wise leadership prioritizes the comfort and social stability of citizens. Integrating diverse and sustainable projects will enhance development opportunities and prosperity by driving comprehensive development initiatives in the emirate.

The meeting focused on reviewing progress in government work, service plans, and development initiatives, including projects aimed at improving infrastructure, living conditions, and enhancing service efficiency for society. His Highness approved a tourism sector strategy that aims to attract millions of visitors, create new job opportunities, and boost the sector’s contribution to the emirate’s non-oil GDP by 2030.

The tourism industry in Abu Dhabi has shown significant growth over recent years. There has been an increase in visitors and economic contributions. His Highness commended the efforts of the tourism authorities and emphasized the importance of sustainable development in line with Abu Dhabi’s economic vision. The strategy approved aims to support private sector investments, enhance tourism services, diversify tourist attractions to achieve Tourism Strategy 2030 goals.

Furthermore, His Highness reviewed infrastructure projects in priority sectors while emphasizing strategic partnerships with private companies are crucial to develop and enhance infrastructure projects. The goal is to achieve an urban renaissance while promoting prosperity and social development for society’s well-being while advancing economic growth through innovation diversification, and expansion in tourism industry aligning with Abu Dhabi’s economic ambitions.
