ABC Brings Back Monday Night Football with Five-Game Schedule Amid Hollywood Strike

ABC will air only five Monday night games in the upcoming season.

Monday Night Football made its debut on ABC in 1970 and remained on the network until 2006. In recent years, the show has made a comeback with simulcasts and exclusive doubleheader games. Last year, ABC aired games every week due to the Hollywood strikes that halted the production of scripted shows. However, this year ABC will only have a handful of games, totaling five in total.

The upcoming games on ABC include two simulcasts (Jets-49ers in Week 1 and Lions-49ers in Week 17) and three exclusive games as part of a staggered doubleheader. For Week 3, ABC’s game will be Commanders-Bengals at 8:15 p.m. ET while ESPN will have Jaguars-Bills at 7:30 p.m. ET. In Week 4, ABC’s game will be Seahawks-Lions at 8:15 p.m. ET, with Titans-Dolphins airing on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. ET. Week 15 will see ABC showing Bears-Vikings at 8:00 p.m. ET, while Falcons-Raiders will be on ESPN at 8:30 p.m. ET.
