A Galactic Swap and Read: Shanghai’s Science and Technology Museum Takes on Literary Space Expedition

Amazing Science Book Swap Features Incredible Reading

On April 23, a father and his son attended a book swap event organized by local students at the Shanghai Library East Branch. The fair was held in celebration of World Book and Copyright Day and saw participation from various schools, including the Luwen Second Center Primary School, the Future Academy of Science and Technology, and others. Students swapped books and showcased handmade models of rockets, spaceships, and other items related to China’s space achievements.

The event is part of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum’s reading campaign “Incredible Reading.” From April 16 to 22, five prominent figures, including the museum’s director Ni Minjing and physicist Chu Junhao, shared their thoughts on science books through videos. Ni recommended George Gamow’s classic “One, Two, Three … Infinity,” a book that makes the world of science easily understandable for general readers. This campaign aims to promote interest in science and reading among the public.
