He clarified that he had given Schlein time to consider his proposal before the primaries but did not receive any response. The investigation into the tainted voting process was expected, and Conte emphasized transparency in the electoral process.
Regarding the withdrawal of Laforgia from the primaries, Conte stated that they would respect his decision if he chose to step back. However, he emphasized that there was no reason to deviate from their rational and linear political path. Looking ahead, Conte mentioned that they would focus on the upcoming regional elections in Puglia. He hinted at potential changes within the party and suggested they would be more ambitious in their approach while keeping their strategy under wraps regarding councilor withdrawals.
