2K, 5K and 10K: Community Gathers to Support Mental Health Awareness and Well-Being

2nd Annual Mental Health Movement Captured in Photos: Latest Updates on News, Sports, and Jobs

The Mental Health Movement 2K, 5K, and 10K events attracted around 230 participants on a Saturday morning. Starting from the Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority parking lot on Johnson Street in Alpena, the events brought together community members to show support for mental health awareness and wellness.

The 5K event, hosted by NeMCMHA, featured runners and walkers at the start line, with booths from various area mental health groups in attendance, including Partners in Prevention, MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena, and more. Participants had the chance to engage with resources and information provided by the different mental health organizations present at the event.

The positive and uplifting atmosphere was evident as individuals of all ages and backgrounds came together to promote mental health and well-being. The overall success of the Mental Health Movement event drew attention to the importance of mental health support in the community. By participating in the event, attendees were able to demonstrate their commitment to destigmatizing mental health issues and advocating for better access to care and resources. The event served as a reminder of the importance of taking care of one’s mental health and supporting others in their mental health journeys.
