24-Year-Old Man Accused of $5,000 in Damage to Delaware Towing Business after a Fit of Anger.

Delaware State Police Arrest Man for Felony Criminal Mischief at Townsend Business

On June 27, 2024, at around 7:10 p.m., a Townsend business reported criminal mischief to the Delaware State Police. The incident took place at Drake’s Towing, located at 4195 Dupont Parkway. Troopers arrived on the scene and discovered that Jacob Singleton, a 24-year-old man from Bear, Delaware, had caused several thousand dollars in damage to the business. Singleton had become enraged after finding the business closed for the day and shattered a window with a chair in his fit of anger.

Through investigative efforts, troopers identified Singleton as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On June 30, 2024, Singleton was apprehended by the New Castle County Police Department and taken to Troop 2. He was charged with felony criminal mischief totaling $5,000 or more and third-degree criminal trespass. Singleton was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and imprisoned at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $6,001 secured bond.
