2024 Scientific Innovation contest showcases promising solutions in agriculture, healthcare, and environmental conservation

Finalists chosen for Science Initiative 2024: 30 applications make the cut

The 2024 Scientific Innovation contest, organized by VnExpress newspaper, is an annual competition that provides a platform for science and technology enthusiasts to showcase their ideas and products with practical applications in everyday life. This year, the contest received 135 applications, out of which 124 entries made it to the qualifying round. Of these, 30 projects progressed to the final round after being screened by the jury and receiving votes from readers.

One of the standout projects in the final round is POCYPOCY, an application developed by CYNO’s technical team to block spam messages and fraudulent calls using modern technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning. Another innovative product is multi-purpose construction materials made from industrial and agricultural waste, which offer environmentally friendly and cost-effective solutions for construction projects.

Other projects include Smart Learning Gateway for preschool students in mountainous areas, Smart Helmets for motorbikes and electric vehicles, Highland Warm Water Stove that harnesses excess heat from wood stoves to provide hot water, light-transmitting “green” concrete products, a sustainable solution for plastic waste treatment, new wind power generation equipment, early diagnosis and treatment strategies for primary liver cancer. From automatic rotating plant rack systems to machines for seeding, spraying, and fertilizing rice plants, these projects showcase a diverse range of innovations in science and technology.
