2024 Farm Bill Passed by House Committee on Agriculture: How It Supports Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Renewable Fuels

Engine Technology Forum urges EPA to release 2026 RFS RVOs for biomass-based diesel by November

On May 24, the House Committee on Agriculture passed its version of the 2024 Farm Bill by a vote of 33-21. The bill includes provisions that support the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) industry. Meanwhile, Representative Randy Feenstra and Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst from Iowa urged President Joe Biden and U.S. EPA Administrator Michael Regan to amend the Renewable Fuel Standard blending requirements.

On May 17, the House Committee on Agriculture released a discussion draft of the 2024 Farm Bill, titled the “Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024.” The committee is scheduled to begin markup of the bill on May 23. In other news, the Bioenergy Technologies Office at the U.S. Department of Energy awarded $2.18 million in funding to four projects as part of the Feedstock-Conversion Interface Consortium (FCIC) 2023 Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) call.
