20 Faculty and Staff Honored for Dedication and Service to College of Public Health Mission and Values

2024 Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony honors recipients at College of Public Health

The College of Public Health recently recognized 20 faculty and staff members for their dedication, innovation, and service to the institution’s mission and values. The 2024 Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony was held on April 19, where these individuals were celebrated for their outstanding achievements in teaching, research, leadership, and commitment to advancing the College’s mission and values.

Dean Melissa Perry opened the ceremony by praising all faculty and staff for their exceptional work, highlighting the impact of their hard work on the College’s evolution and improvement. She emphasized how their accomplishments have contributed to the College’s success, which has been reflected in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Nominees for the awards were selected through a rigorous process that involved colleagues submitting nominations to department chairs. The department chairs then made official nominations based on these nominations, and an ad hoc committee comprised of last year’s winners determined the recipients of the awards.

Individuals from various departments including GCH, HAP, NUTR, SW, Nursing College-wide staff were honored at the event. Awards were presented by Executive Director of Finance and Administration Lisa Joyner and Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff Affairs Cathy Tompkins who congratulated each winner personally and acknowledged their achievements in their respective categories.
