18-Year-Old Irish Teenager Makes History in Formula 3 at Spanish Grand Prix”.

Dunne achieves Formula 3 milestone with podium finish

Alex Dunne, a teenager from Ireland, made history by becoming the first Irish driver to stand on a Formula 3 podium at the Spanish Grand Prix. Dunne finished in second place behind home driver Mari Boya in the sprint race in Barcelona. The 18-year-old started in fourth and was putting pressure on Boya for third when race leaders and Trident team-mates Santiago Ramos and Sami Meguetounif collided on the third lap.

Dunne’s impressive performance was shaping up for another attack on Boya for the lead when a safety car was deployed after the collision. However, a late safety car neutralised the race until the chequered flag, leaving Dunne with second place as his best finish of the Formula 3 season. Despite this setback, Dunne remains optimistic about his future in Formula 1.

MP Motorsport driver Dunne moves up to 16th in the standings after his impressive performance at the Spanish Grand Prix. He will start from ninth place for Sunday’s feature race, which will be the 100th in Formula 3’s history. As a support series on the Formula 1 calendar, Formula 3 is an exciting opportunity for young drivers like Dunne to showcase their skills and take their first steps towards reaching their full potential in professional racing.
