Today marks the 15th anniversary of the tragic death of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair, who was found dead at the age of 36. The official report stated that he was murdered by his 20-year-old girlfriend, Jenny Kazemi, who then took her own life. However, many questions remained unanswered, leaving suspicions that it was a double murder disguised as a murder-suicide lingering in the minds of many.
McNair was an incredibly talented quarterback who had a successful career spanning 13 years in the NFL. He was drafted third overall from Alcorn State and played for the Oilers and Titans for 11 seasons before finishing his career with the Ravens in 2006 and 2007. One of his most notable achievements was leading the Titans to a Super Bowl appearance in XXXIV, where they came just short of forcing overtime against the Rams in a thrilling game.
Over the course of his career, McNair accumulated over 31,000 passing yards and appeared in 161 regular-season games with 153 starts. He shared the MVP award with Peyton Manning in 2003 and is widely regarded as one of the league’s top quarterbacks during his time. His contributions to the Titans were recognized when his number 9 jersey was retired by the team and he was honored in their Ring of Honor.
