A Centenarian Still Runs Her Own Company

Deborah Szekely, at 102 years old, is still going strong and working three days a week at Rancho La Puerta, the health resort she founded with her husband in 1940. Located in Mexico, Rancho La Puerta is one of the first integrated health care resorts in North America. The Szekelys faced challenges during World War II, leading them to move to Mexico and establish the resort.

Despite her age, Szekely remains deeply involved in the activities at the resort. She meets with speakers, attends events and participates in meetings. Her daughter now runs the resort but Szekely’s curiosity and willingness to learn have contributed to her long and sharp life. She emphasizes the importance of staying engaged and continuing to educate oneself.

Szekely values learning and is always eager to try new things. Her dedication to healthy living and constant pursuit of knowledge serves as an inspiration to others. Despite her busy schedule working three days a week at Rancho La Puerta, she maintains a commitment to staying active and engaged in various activities at the resort.
